Dental FUNCTION This position serves the front desk of the dental clinic.
Functions of this position include but are not limited to:
1) receive and record patient information over the telephone and as patients present in-person; 2) ensure patient information is accurate and up to date; 3) collect payment and assist with dental billing and insurance needs; 4) answer and route incoming calls, answers questions and mitigate patient complaints 5) transcribe organizational electronic health record into dental health record/s with necessary information.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS This position reports to dental site/s Adminitrator, who in turn reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the Family & Community Medicine department.

70% Patient Receiving and Registration 1.
Receives and welcomes patients into the clinic.
2.
Interviews patients to obtain demographic and billing information.
3.
Input, update, retrieve and review patient information 4.
Create initial medical record for new patients.
5.
Obtains patient signature's on authorization forms.
6.
Generates schedules, prints forms and scans documents per policy/procedure.
15% Telephones/Scheduling 7.
Answers phones and routes appropriately following clinical protocols.

Schedules, cancels and reschedules patient appointments.
10% Cashiering 9.
Knowledgeable of sliding fee scales and insurance co-pays.

Collect payments and applies to patient records.

Completes and maintains receipt register.
12.
Deposits bank deposits at local bank per protocol.

Handles patient complaints according to policy/procedure.

RESPONSIBILITY A.
Supervisory Controls - The employee receives direction in either written or oral form from their supervisor.
The duties to be performed and the priority in which these are to be completed will be at the discretion of the supervisor.

The supervisor is responsible for seeing the guidelines are followed through.
