Akorn, Inc. is a niche pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets generic and branded prescription pharmaceuticals as well as animal and consumer health products. We specialize in difficult-to-manufacture sterile and non-sterile dosage forms including:
ophthalmics, injectables, oral liquids, otics, topicals, inhalants, and nasal sprays. Akorn markets its products to retail pharmacies, ophthalmologists, optometrists, physicians, veterinarians, hospitals, clinics, wholesalers, distributors, group purchasing organizations, and government agencies.

Summary
The Technician Supervisor will be able to perform all of the duties listed below in addition to various other duties and responsibilities as they are negotiated.
Essential Functions
Perform the set-up, changeover, operation, and the troubleshooting of all packaging/inspection equipment.
Communicate with machine manufacturers and other production technicians.
Maintain the cleanliness of all packaging equipment as needed or as directed in SOP's.
Maintain the general upkeep of all inspection/production lines.
Assist in the training of co-workers on plant operations, equipment set-up, changeover and
troubleshooting as well as implementing performance improvement plans if necessary.
Maintain a neat and orderly tool room and work area.
Unload all production/inspection lines of packed shippers onto a skid as needed.
Shippers must be stacked per the designated stacking pattern for that product.
Ensure that all equipment and components needed for packaging lines are in place and
ready to go ahead of scheduled time.
Remove full skids of product off the production lines and into the Quarantine Area. All skids removed from the line must have a Quarantine ID tag affixed to them.
Prepare product and components needed for the next day's scheduled production ahead of
time and brought up to the designated cage in the warehouse.
Assist maintenance as necessary or as production allows performing work orders and PM's
in the packaging or inspection areas.
Perform annual employee reviews.
Manage personnel issues as needed.
Maintain documentation according to SOP's.
Follow company policies and safety regulations.

Ensure that all packaging/inspection lines are completely purged of all product and
components from the previous batch before another is brought to that line.
Maintain packaging lines in accordance with cGMP and SOP's.
Follow established controlled substance SOP's.
Maintain parts inventory and manage purchasing of parts.
Additional Responsibilities
Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be able to deal with a variety of emotions. Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position. May require overtime.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). At least 3 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous supervisory experience.
Job Prerequisites
Ability to meet attendance standards. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week. At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
