Akorn markets its products to retail pharmacies, ophthalmologists, optometrists, physicians, veterinarians, hospitals, clinics, wholesalers, distributors, group purchasing organizations, and government agencies.

Summary

The Manager, Plant Accounting is an Accounting/Finance professional highly experienced in cost accounting in a fast growing manufacturing environment. Capable of successfully working in areas including but not limited to inventory costing, inventory control, manufacturing COGS, variance analysis/reporting, quick period-end closes, and financial & SOX audit support.

Essential Functions
Provide cost estimates for new products and ensure standard cost is set prior to first production run.
Reconcile perpetual inventory to general ledger on a monthly basis.
Serve as a financial resource to the operations and management team.
Be proactive in compiling and analyzing financial information for the business units.
Analyze weekly manufacturing variances
Publish weekly Plant Variance Forecast with commentary
Assist with month-end closing
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures to enhance, simplify, and shorten the month-end closing cycle
Assist with cycle counting, physical inventory, and other special projects.
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
7-10 years of plant accounting experience, with manufacturing cost accounting emphasis
Strong knowledge of ERP systems in a manufacturing environment, JD Edwards experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel required
CPA or CMA a plus
Job Prerequisites

Ability to meet attendance standards. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week. At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines.
Have general math skills; adding, subtracting, multiplication, division and percentage calculation. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions.
Able to use personal computer and standard office equipment such as fax and copy machines, calculator, and printers. Aptitude to learn computer programs as needed.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Resourceful and well organized.
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Physical Demands, Mental Requirements and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for written work and PC use. The employee is required to work in a cubicle. The noise level is usually fairly quiet.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
